Tarot FAQs

Please take a look before your reading…

Boundaries/expectations

Whether we’re meeting face-to-face or online, make yourself comfortable - we should be in a quiet space where we won’t be disturbed, and ideally we’ll each have a cup of tea in hand (I always travel with some, just in case!). If it’s possible for you to turn your phone off, I would definitely recommend doing this as a little gift to yourself and to allow you to focus in on our conversation. Your reading will usually last between 60-75 mins (which means I could be with you for a maximum of 90 mins if we meet in person, taking into account time to set up & settle in) and is confidential.

My reading style is a little different from others out there. Take a look at my readings page and disclaimer to check that I am the right reader for you.

What will we talk about?

Take a moment to reflect on your current inner and outer worlds (relationships, identity, purpose, family, work, life changes etc.). Are there any areas where you could do with a sounding board to help choose where to focus your energies, or confidently face a crossroads or obstacle? If one rises to the surface, this might be the theme of your reading. Together we’ll look to the cards to illuminate perspectives on your chosen discussion topic. I'll ask questions, invite exploration and share ideas linked to the cards' meanings to help you connect with your own intuition and desires about the situation.

What if I don’t know what to ask?

You may have booked a reading because you're curious, but now don't know what to discuss! If a few things are asking for attention and you’re not sure how to choose, or nothing springs to mind, that’s absolutely ok. It's useful for you to think about it a little bit beforehand, but there’s no pressure to have it all worked out. We can talk it through together when we meet, or you might prefer a more general reading exploring themes for the upcoming month/season/year.

Do certain cards mean something bad is going to happen?

In short, no - definitely not. Tarot is often misrepresented in the media, and played for dramatic effect. My personal relationship with Tarot is based on the fact that it is packed with nourishing, supportive medicine and wisdom for the present moment, no scary omens in sight. Life is complex and includes many challenges, but the cards are there to support you through them - never to increase anxiety or foretell doom. All the archetypes have rich, layered meanings that go beyond their immediate & most obvious connotations.

How do I pay?

My fees are currently on a sliding scale, with options depending on your financial situation. I trust you to choose the rate you can genuinely afford, no questions asked.

I may send details for bank transfer or Paypal and request that you pay before the reading. In this case, I will refund 100% of the payment if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance, or 50% if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice. If I cancel the reading for any reason, I will of course refund you 100% of your payment. (Please note that in the occasional event that I have hired and paid for a space for the reading, I may need to deduct the hire fee from your refund - this is typically around £10-15 and I will always check with you before booking/payment).

Asking you to pay in advance is protection for me as a self-employed reader - it helps with the risk of not being able to fill a cancelled slot at short notice, and honours time spent on any preparations I’ve made. Thanks for your understanding :)

How often should I have a reading?

If your reading was helpful, it may be tempting to book straight in for next week! However I recommend leaving it 2-3 months to allow the insights to settle and fully reveal themselves.

Any other questions in advance of us reading together, just shout 😊💗
