About Robber’s Daughter
My values, approaches & background

Hi, I’m Beth.
I’m a tarot reader and death doula.
Part of me loves the creative colour and beauty of life, getting playful with the subconscious and co-creating dreams & visions of the future. That’s tarot.
Another part of me is on a life-long journey of finding acceptance, surrendering to what is, and learning from Death as the ultimate teacher. That’s doula territory.
And all of me loves exploring the big mysteries, showing up in presence & advocacy for others and bringing empowerment and peace into my interactions. Which is both.
I work in person across Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and the surrounding area - and I can also support you via video call if you live further afield.
My Approach
I help people navigate crossroads and thresholds at the beginning, middle and end of their lives. Whether reading tarot or supporting you with grief and loss, I do this through a combination of:
Sacredness
Using ritual to reinstate a sense of tender spaciousness to living and dying, and to honour both as having meaning beyond religion.
(See ‘Why Ritual and Ceremony?’)
Presence
I see you. I’ll bring deep listening, acceptance, respect, present attention & love for your unique journey.
Empowerment
Advocating for you and awakening alongside you - helping you reconnect to your innate inner wisdom for conscious living and dying.
Background
With 20+ years of experience working in community arts, I’ve always loved using stories and co-creation to shift narratives and restore power to individuals & communities. I’ve collaborated with, and held space for, children, young people & adults from all kinds of backgrounds, in a wide range of settings - from museums to disability hubs, mental health hospitals to LGBTQIA+ Pride events, theatres to hospices, and youth offending programmes to festivals.
The Covid-19 pandemic brought big shifts for us all, and personally made me more deeply aware of the life skills and community safety nets we’ve forgotten (or had taken from us) in this part of the world.
Feeling that loss brought me to a crossroads of my own, from where I started planning a radical community party, with 25 other Newcastle Gateshead residents, for when the final lockdowns lifted in 2021. A portal, a doorway for us to pass through together.
Then I trained as a death doula, with Sacred Circle CIC (find out more about them at their website - www.journeywithdeath.com). A deep & transformative journey that has taught (and continues to teach) me so much about grounding in challenging situations, and about the unexpected gifts of leaning into the well of our collective and individual grief.
Tarot has been a steady companion through difficult times - while witnessing the ongoing ruptures across the world and healing from my own trauma and grief it’s been a trusted tool to check in with and strengthen my own intuitive knowing. I read with others in the same way I do for myself: with an open mind, and checking in with what feels authentically true.
In setting up Robber’s Daughter, I’ve loved discovering how the strands of my life have woven together to create my unique offering. And I look forward to seeing how they connect with your own stories - wherever you are on your journey through life and death.
