Intuition
Do you trust your inner sat nav?
Intuition can show up as a little impulse, or a deep knowing. Sometimes it’s hidden under a heap of other stuff, but if you get really still & quiet it’s always there.
Glennon Doyle says it’s “like warm liquid gold filling my veins and solidifying just enough to make me feel steady, certain”. Which sounds pretty sweet.
At its heart, trusting our intuition is leaning into the principle that we know what’s right for us, if we can tune in and get out of our own way. And practising the skill is also a great way to build a deeper connection with our bodies.
Try it…
Try sitting without distractions & practise asking yes/no questions you already know the answer to. Notice how your body gently responds to each ‘yes’ and ‘no’- learn your intuition’s way of communicating.
Each time, take note - do you feel warm or cool? Expansive or contracted? Do your muscles relax or are they tightly clenched? Maybe you tilt forward slightly for yes, and pull back for a no.
Next focus on something you could use some guidance about. Lay out a few options for yourself and see how your body responds to each.
When one feels like gold, you have your answer. And it’s less annoying than that voice on your maps app.
